Lincoln Hotel
The nine-storied Lincoln Hotel was the second-tallest building in Havana when it was built in 1926. It gained notoriety in 1958, when members of the 26th of July Movement kidnapped five-time Motor Racing World Champion, Juan Manuel Fangio from the downstairs lobby, to express their pro-independence’ goals. A small ‘museum’ on the 8th floor records the event for posterity. Nowadays the hotel preserves the 1950´s style, with nice and budget services.
The Lincoln Hotel is located in Centro Habana municipality, right in the border with Old Havana. Only at a few steps from the Historic Center, it is nearby Parque Central and Capitolio.
