Moka

Moka Hotel is considered Cuba’s most authentic eco-resort due to its location at Las Terrazas community, which operates on guiding principles related with energy efficiency, sustainable agriculture, and environmental education. The land around Las Terrazas was incorporated in 1985 into Cuba’s first Unesco Biosphere Reserve, the Sierra del Rosario, where 93 bird species had been reported, and among them 16 are indigenous. The rooms are spacious with colorfully tiled floors and balconies, while the lobby has blooming flower garden and resident tree growing through. Several eco-tourist paths are commercialized in the hotel, and the birdwatching tours are especially interesting, allowing to enjoy tocororo (Cuban trogon), cartacuba (Cuban indigenous tody), and zunzuncito (bee hummingbird).
