Bohío de Don Pedro Hotel
The Bohío de Don Pedro is a nice choice in the Zapata Peninsula, with comfortable rooms arranged like a rural batey (peasant settlement). Placed in the World Biosphere Reserve that hosts Gran Parque Natural Montemar, the hotel is a perfect retreat for birdwatching activities. Numerous eco-tourist guided-paths are commercialized here, considering that the area has reported 258 bird species, and among them 21 are endemic. The most searched ones are the Zapata sparrow, the Zapata rail and the Zapata wren.
The Bohío de Don Pedro Hotel is located in Ciénaga de Zapata, southern Matanzas province, in the Caribbean’s largest swamp. Situated in Guamá´s tourist area, it is nearby bird-watching spots and the Crocodile Farm.
